
Kate Beckinsale was born on 26 July 1973 in Hounslow, Middlesex, England and has lived in London for the majority of her life. Her mother is Judy Loe, who has played in a variety of British sitcoms and dramas, and continues to be an actress, predominantly in British television shows. After a few television appearances, her breakthrough role was in 1993's romantic comedy "Much Ado about Nothing". Beckinsale has appeared in numerous notable films since then, including "Emma" 1996, "Pearl Harbor 2001" and "Underworld 2003", which spawned five more films from the series. Beckinsale appeared alongside Jessica Biel, Colin Farrel in "Total Recall" in 2012. The actress also won prestigious awards like "Best Actress" at Sitges Catalan International Film Festival.
